Texas Pathology Consultants joins the Independent Pathology Practice Network.

Aligned with the network’s core values of independence, excellence, community, and professional development, Texas Pathology Consultants has joined similarly-minded pathology groups to promote the value of independent practice for the delivery of excellence in laboratory medicine.

Together with Dr. M. R. Akkad Wattar, and Dr. R. Tarakji, Dr. Wafi Bibars presented a rare case of rectal mixed adeno-neuroendocrine carcinoma (MANEC) with liver metastasis at the annual meeting of the American Society of Clinical Pathology on October 27. The meeting was held live in Boston, and virtually everywhere else.

Texas Health Mansfield lead all other campuses in the recent report of overall patient experience scores released by AdventHealth. In its first reporting period, THM scored an astonishing 96.67% HCAHPS overall rating, nearly 10 points higher than the next highest facility. This score reflects THM’s commitment to a high quality, patient-centric care environment. Expect this commitment to continue to set the standard for AdventHealth facilities and for all hospitals in the DFW area.

Dr. Kevin Homer has been elected Chief of Staff by the medical staff at Texas Health Hospital Mansfield. Clinical excellence is Dr. Homer’s top priority during his term in office. Dr. Homer is also committed to an efficient and friendly credentialing process to support the early growth of this young hospital in Mansfield. Dr. Homer’s term will end December 31, 2022.

This week the laboratory at Texas Health Huguley Hospital received shipment of a Roche Cobas 6800 for high-throughput PCR testing of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19.  Once installation and validation are completed in mid-January, the Roche Cobas 6800 will be able to test up to 96 samples in a 3-hour run.  While initially to be used only for SARS-CoV-2 testing, expect the laboratory to tap into its other capabilities once the pandemic has passed.

We are excited to be here for the grand opening of Texas Health Hospital Mansfield! Congratulations to Kenneth Rose, president and CEO, and his dedicated team for this accomplishment. Texas Pathology Consultants is both proud and humbled to serve the Mansfield community and physicians at this beautiful new facility.

Texas Health Mansfield Hospital is on schedule to open its doors on Tuesday, December 1, and the laboratory will be ready to support the patients of this new hospital. All major instruments have been installed and validated. A full staff of medical laboratory scientists and laboratory assistants have been hired and are being trained under the capable leadership of Christie Baron, laboratory manager. We are proud to be part of this beautiful new laboratory, and we are eager to serve the community of Mansfield beginning in December.

Texas Pathology Consultants is pleased to welcome Dr. Wafi Bibars to our practice. Dr. Bibars completed fellowships in cytopathology at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston and surgical pathology at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston.  Read his full biography on our People page. Huguley Pathology Consultants is now Texas Pathology Consultants! After providing exclusive service to Texas Health Huguley Hospital for more than 40 years, our group will expand to provide services to Texas Health Hospital Mansfield in December, 2020. To prepare for this expansion, we’ve changed our name to clarify our service focus. Rest assured, nothing else has changed. We continue focus on providing diagnostic excellence to the hospitals and communities we serve.

Texas Pathology Consultants has been chosen to provide pathology services to Texas Health Hospital Mansfield when it opens in 2020.  We are honored to be part of this exciting project which gives us the opportunity to bring the same diagnostic excellence to the Mansfield community that we have provided to Texas Health Huguley Hospital for so many years.
